How do I get a medical appointment?

To schedule an appointment with a medical professional we recommend following these steps:

  • 1. Make sure he is a certified doctor. For this, the profile you visit must contain the verification icon, which means that the medical professional has been endorsed by asecond.io and meets the legal requirements to provide a medical care service
  • 2. Enter the profile of the health professional and in the “Info” table verify the physical address for the medical consultation, and make sure it is an address you can go to, we also recommend browsing the profile in search of more information, Ratings from other users and publications to make sure you are the most qualified health professional for what you need.
  • 3. Once convinced to make a medical appointment, click on the “More” icon and then on the Book an appointment option. This option is only available in profiles of verified health professionals
  • 4. The service and service provider are placed automatically, you just have to select a day and time of your appointment.
  • 5. Once the date and time is selected, a small questionnaire will be displayed, some data is automatically placed, you must specify the missing data, as well as a brief description of the reason for the appointment in the notes section, you can leave or remove the option Google calendars which will allow you to add the appointment data to your Google account. By default all appointments are scheduled for 60 minutes, according to the characteristics of the provider of medical services this time may be less or longer, and is only established as a reference.
  • 6. At the end of the questionnaire, you will receive a notification that the application has been finalized. No, asecond.io does not process any payment, and all its services are free. In case you have scheduled a service appointment with a health professional, and you need to cover your fees, we recommend you contact your service provider directly to agree on the payment method. We do not recommend making payments before receiving medical care.

How can patients schedule an appointment with me if I am a physician?

To activate the medical consultation scheduling service in your profile you must follow the following steps:

 

  • 1. You must first make sure you have a Physician profile. You must go to your profile, click on the “More” tab and then on “Verify account”. In case your account does not have this option in the tab, it means that you did not choose a Physician profile when registering in hdmsecondopinion and you should consult the support to request a change of user profile.
  • 2. You will be redirected to a questionnaire, which you must fill out with the requested information and include the documents proving your identity and certification as a provider of medical services
  • 3. Once finished, the hdmsecondopinion team will review your request, and send you an email with confirmation of your account approval. Once your account is verified, this badge will be shown on your profile
  • 4. To set your schedule availability to schedule appointments, go to your profile, then click on “more” and then on “Appointments” and finally on “Appointments Settings”
  • 5. By clicking on “Appointments Settings”, the functions to set up your appointment calendar will be displayed, where you must record your work hours, work days, hours and rest days, as well as your holidays. Once finished you must click on “save changes”. These functions can be modified at any time.
  • 6. When a patient makes an appointment on your profile, you will receive an email notification. Each appointment must be approved by you. To make an approval of your appointment, go to your profile by clicking on the “More” tab, then on “Appointments” and you will see a table with your list of agendas, as well as their status.
  • 7. When a new one is scheduled by the patient, by default it appears as pending, if you accept this appointment, you must click on the confirmation box and then on “Submit confirm”. How can I find a physician who is close to my location?

To search by location you must first select the option of “members” in the main menu, a menu with all members of hdmsecondopinion will be displayed, then you must select the option of “Physician” to set the filter, and finally in the search bar you can write the country, state, location, hospital, street, etc., to find profiles that correspond to the search. The profiles found will match your search. If you do not find a related profile, we recommend you expand the search.

How to post a medical question?

One of the objectives of hdmsecondopinion is to connect patients and health professionals, so if you have any medical questions you can ask it. To do so, first select the “newsfeed” option in the main menu, a wall with the activity of all hdmsecondopinion users will be displayed. You can ask the question you require, be sure to establish the privacy of your question in case of selecting public, anyone even if they do not have an account on hdmsecondopinion can see it, if you select “members” only registered members can see your publication, you can also select “friends only” or “only me”. In case of containing personal or sensitive information, we recommend the “Friends only” option, although it will be necessary for you to add various medical professionals as friends in your network so they can see your publication and answer your questions. How can I create a post about a medical topic that might be of interest to my patients?

hdmsecondopinion allows any type of user to post on any subject that might be of interest to other users, to make a post first go to your profile, select the tab Posts then select the Add option, a form will be displayed that you should complete Create Post, we recommend assigning various Tags so that members can find and interest you more easily in your post

How can I create a fanpage?

hdmsecondopinion allows you to create groups that functions as a fanpage where only administrators and moderators can post, but all group members can view and interact with the posts. To create a first group select the groups option in the main menu and then “Create a group”

A form will be displayed where you will put the name of the group, a brief description and then click on “Create group and continue”

After the settings appear, first select the privacy options, we recommend that a fan page be public, so that more members can join and your community is getting bigger, but you can do it privately or hidden. Then select if members can invite other members, and finally you should select the fan page option

Finally, select a photo and cover, and invite some friends to join your fan page.

How can I complete my profile?

When you enter hdmsecondopinion for the first time, we recommend finalizing your profile, to know all the options you can include, when going to your profile a box will appear that will notify you of the percentage of progress, when clicking profile widgets all the options that will be displayed will be displayed. You have to complete your profile and clicking on one of them will redirect you so you can complete it.

What are user points for?

Every time you make an interaction in hdmsecondopinion you earn points, for example if you comment on a post, add a friend, make an assessment, etc. Profiles with more points are more popular and appear first in searches. For example, if you are a patient and you have many points, when you ask a medical question or publication, it will appear first to the most important doctors so that they can answer it. If you are a physician, and you have many points, when a patient looks for a recommendation you will first appear in the searches.

How to review a user profile?

All types of profiles can qualify other profiles, for example, if you received support from any user you can rate their profile, which will help other users to have a reference of that profile. To make a review, first go to the profile of the user you want to rate, and on his cover photo click on “Review”

A form will be opened in which you must select a number of stars from 1 to 5 to review that profile, if you give more stars it is better score, and finally a description that accompanies your score.

Can I publish in languages other than English?

Yes, hdmacademy has no language restriction, you can publish in any language you require. We have users and members from all over the world that can interact with you in any language. The hdmsecondopinion team works hard and soon all configurations will be enabled in new languages.

How can I send a message to a member?

There are two options in hdmsecondopinion to send a message:

1. The first option or inbox allows you to send messages to any user, even if they are not friends or followers. To do this, just go to the profile you want to send the message to and click on the message icon.

A contact form will be displayed that you must fill out, at the end of your message it will be sent to that user.

In order to see your sent messages, enter your profile and click on the messages icon, and then sent, you can see all the messages you have sent and track them.

 

2. The second option to contact a user is through our chat system, with the you can chat, make voice calls, and even video calls, this option will only allow you to interact with your friends.To start the chat, click on the tab that appears in the lower left corner.

How do I make a video call with a friend?

To start the chat, click on the tab that appears in the lower left corner.

The chat with that user will be displayed, at the top you will see the video call and voice call icon, select one to start.

How to translate a conversation automatically?

To start the chat, click on the tab that appears in the lower left corner.

When the chat tab opens, click on the more option

In the lower part you will see the option to translate conversation, click to display the language menu

The language option will be displayed, select the language to which you want to translate all the messages that other users send you. When choosing a language it will appear as active at the top, if you want to stop the automatic translation just click on stop.

Once activated when a user sends you a message it will be automatically translated, the message in the original language will appear in parentheses.

How to translate the messages I write to another language in real time?

The advanced chat system of hdmsecondopinion allows you to write in your own language and translate it to the language you require in real time, to use this function in the chat tab when you have an active conversation select the more icon.

Can telemedicine or medical consultations be made through video call on hdmsecondopinion?

Telemedicine is the use of new technologies to receive medical advice even over long distances, hdmsecondopinion tools allow video calls that can be used for this purpose, however, making and accepting a medical consultation by telemedicine depends on the patient and the provider of medical services, and even the norms and regulations in force in each region, so if you need to be patient and require this type of service we recommend you contact your medical service provider first to verify that this option is possible.The use of hdmsecondopinion tools for telemedicine is the responsibility of who grants the service and who receives it. Can I edit a post after I have made it?

Yes, any publication in hdmsecondopinion can be edited. You can only edit a publication up to 15 minutes after it has been published.

How can I report abuse in any activity?

If you believe that any publication violates the terms and conditions in hdmseconopinion or that may be uncomfortable for members, you can make a report. To do this just click on “Report abuse”, this button is present in all publications. You will be redirected to a contact form, when filling it out you specify the problem and why you consider the publication to be abusive, be sure to include the link of the profile that made the publication so that the hdmsecondopinion team can perform the investigation.
